I was a little kid in America during the 1967 “Seven Day War” in Israel from June 5-10, 1967. I was trying to figure out the reality of this world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Vietnam War was taking place and I knew about it. My Mother and her friends would take us and their kids shopping and would purposely buy items made and labeled in foreign countries i.e. Taiwan, Japan, Mexico, etc. inorder to show us a global unity. I always thought these foreign items didn’t constitute a global reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I remember that school had recently ended at least for my older sister, I might have been in Kindergarten at the time and we were getting into a Summer routine. We had just returned home from shopping, we lived in a rented farm house outside of a small town in Colorado. When we arrived home my Dad was home and his boss was with him, I thought my Dad also had a Summer schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we went inside my Dad and his boss both Army Veterans who served in Germany my Dad after WWII and his boss during WWII were sitting at the kitchen table glued to a radio. My Dad said Israel was at war for it’s very existence and both were deeply concerned for the outcome of Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 7 Day War concluded with Israel being very successful to the sheer delight and utter surprise of many people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We were renting an older farm house from an older couple who had built a new modern house further back from the road. I had briefly talked to the wife and she was supportive of Israel then days later after everyone had stopped talking about the War in Israel I bumped into her and her mother-in-law outside, the wife’s husband had been in WWII and the Mother-in-law was of the WWI generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The wife mentioned that it was an opportunity for Israel to rebuild their Temple in Jerusalem and she was excited for it to happen. Her mother-in-law completely disagreed and begin to shut her down saying she was of the older generation having lived through the two world wars and knew what was best globally. Within a short time Israel announced the return of land to Egypt and letting Jordan supervise the Temple Mount in Jerusalem both mistakes but Israel had little say in the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the aftermath of the 7 Day War in Israel things had really changed in American society – Church had completely changed as though Church prior to the 7 Day War had been a practice session but now we were in a literal End of Days scenario. In school we never once heard about an atomic bomb but lived in constant fear of Armageddon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The events of Israel, Jerusalem and the Temple Mount constituted a reality I hadn’t known about events in a long line of existence with eternal significance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Jewish rebuilding of their 3rd Temple in Jerusalem is long overdue and I pray for their success in rebuilding the Temple and in everything they desire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
