The First Ministers of the UK’s devolved nations will sign a landmark agreement on Monday aimed at putting pressure on Downing Street (London) to hold referendums on independence.

Successive UK governments have been consistently against the holding of referendums on separation since the 2014 vote in Scotland and hopes earlier this week of a softening position were dashed by Downing Street.

UK Leaders of Scotland, Ireland and Wales are expected to meet in Cardiff today (September 14, 2026) to sign an agreement aimed at putting pressure on London ‘Downing Street’ to hold referendums on their independence.

It will require Scotland, Ireland and Wales to separate from the UK in order to regain their membership in the European Union.

Britain is so financially in debt that the British government recently decided to decrease and reprioritize defense spending in order to commit to further social welfare spending.
